“How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony—(in a Spirit given unity)! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. Unity is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.” Psalm 133
Lord Jesus, I feel a bit of the refreshing dew resting on my heart this morning, like that which fell on and kissed the mountains of Zion. It’s been a rich weekend with four other brothers, as diverse as 5 guys can be, but united in our need for you, and grateful for the grace you continue to lavish on us. Thank you.
As you know, Jesus, a lot of what we talked about this weekend has been our relationships. Until you return, Satan will continue his multifaceted attacks on our each of our hearts, our marriages, our friendships, families—really, everywhere we live, work, and play. He’ll do anything/everything to sabotage our connection and sow dissension, erode trust and destroy beauty. It’s what he does as the lord of darkness. He lost us for eternity, so all the devil has is now to mess with us, and rob you of glory..
You reminded us the best way we can resist the devil, and his nefarious schemes, is by marinating in the Gospel, abiding in your love, and walking closely with you and each other. All the way Home, we’re going to need more, not less of your grace—along with honest, real, fun, long-haul friendships.
Each of us wants to be the chief repenter, quickest forgiver, and main encourager in our marriages, our friendships, and other vital relationships. Help us, Jesus, then help us come more, all the way Home. So Very Amen.
