GOSPEL BOUND WITH COLLIN HANSEN
What I'm Seeing

In this episode of Gospelbound, guest host Kendra Dahl interviewed me about my new book, Where Is God in a World With So Much Evil?, part of the Hard Questions series published by TGC and Crossway. I wrote this short book while staying in Cambridge, England, the continuation of many years of reflection and study of European history and cultural apologetics with regard to Christianity’s hardest questions and the decline of the church in the West. In the Holocaust we see nothing less than a moral revolution, the supplanting of one crux in human history on Golgotha for another, the swastika flying over Buchenwald. Hitler is the new moral standard that convinces us evil belongs to the past, to people capable of mass murder. But from Ukraine to Gaza, that past is once again our present.

So, again, where is God amid all this evil?

From Job to the Psalms, from Isaiah to the Gospels, we see how God hears the cries of his people and offers his presence—if not always the answers we demand. Friend, I want you to know God sees your tears. He may not give you an explanation. He gives you more—his Son.

If you’re suffering, or you know someone who is, I hope you’ll find this discussion helpful, even encouraging, and pick up a copy of the book.
