During my first semester of college, the month of December was different than any I had ever experienced. Instead of rushing headlong into Christmas parties and shopping, my Christian college emphasized Advent as a time of spiritual preparation. Campus life removed me from the commercialized Christmas hubbub and gave me the luxury of readying my heart to rejoice in the Savior’s birth.

Since graduating, I haven’t been able to avoid the hectic busyness of December, but I have tried to look for ways to build into my schedule opportunities for reflection and prayer.

This year at The Gospel Coalition, we’ve put together a few resources that we hope will help you press pause on the bustle of life in order to wonder at the miracle of Jesus’s birth.

Above all, we hope that you’ll participate in anything your church community is offering to nourish your spiritual life this Advent. Let every heart prepare him room!
